ActionsTalk - Now on Boxee!

Folks, we just wanted to update all of you who have been waiting with watering mouths for the next video. We’re taking a very short break. We’ll be back in 1-2 weeks with spotlights but for now we are going to give AT a little face lift.

ActionsTalk has grown from a joke, to a project, to so much more and in order to grow the way we want we’re changing this around a bit. ActionsTalk will still be the site you all expect to see with the latest video highlighted and the past videos easily accessible but we’re going to be highlighting our sponsors a bit and make the past videos even easier to find!

As we go through this process PLEASE feel free to give us your candid feedback and advice. We’re always open to what the community has to say. And what the community wants to see holds the upmost importance. In short, talk to us. We’re listening.

See you guys soon.

AT face lift!

Tonight we met up with many awesome Milwaukee people at the monthly Spreenkler meeting.  Mayor Tom Barrett was there and shared some of this thoughts on how to improve milwaukee by making it safer and improving transportation.  Here’s a recording of the meeting, in case you missed it and care to hear about the issues.

Sorry for the delay in bringing you the next episode of ActionsTalk!

We’ve had some difficulty with our video host and will post as soon as the issue is resolve. Look for #19 before the end of the weekend!

Cheers.

Delay in ActionsTalk

This post is it to all of the people that have reached out to ActionsTalk since the artilce in the MKE Journal Sentinel:
Just want to thank you so much for your interest in ActionsTalk and your support in helping to grow the startup ecosystem in Milwaukee. It’s a long road but Milwaukee is on the right path with a growing creative community and a strong source of technical programs in area universities. There just needs to be a feeling that it can be done here, that ideas can be funded here, and that it’s cool!

We hope to push that initiative in the area and in other non-hub startup areas. Anyone who emailed us in the first few days should have gotten something back in return initially and we’ll be following up with your individually over the next couple of weeks.

If your need to reach us is time sensative please feel free to email again or comment here on this blog and we’ll plan accordingly.

Thanks again for all of your interest and support! Looking forward to meeting everyone! Cheers.

Email Flood!

Tonight we met up with Steve Glynn, founder of Spreenkler at his home in Milwaukee.  What Steve has done with Spreenkler is a perfect example of how you can grow your ideas ideas with passion.

Tonight Blake and I had the chance to catch up with the CEO and Founder of Rudder, Nikhil Roy. Rudder is a new financial services company that has a VERY different approach to personal finance. Rudders approach is to help you guide and influence future spending decisions versus just analyzing old ones! Nikhil said, “personal finance is just like a gym membership, it’s exciting at the beginning and it quickly dies off”.

The Rudder spotlight will be up on ActionsTalk in just a few weeks so check back soon

Thanks to Nikhil and the Rudder team for taking the time to talk with ActionsTalk!

AT will continue to highlight cool startups from everywhere, but we’re committed to highlighting the community supporting us - Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Since our interviews so far have been about half Milwaukee businesses, we’ve decided to implement a new “Channel” feature based on geography.  Now site visitors can choose to view “All Spotlights”, those from “Milwaukee”, or “National” spotlights.  Let us know what you think.  We need your feedback to grow and make the experience better :-)

New Feature - Geo Channels
